Six fire engines and 35 firefighters and officers dealt with a fire at an industrial area on Packet Boat Lane in Uxbridge, last night.
A repair garage was completely destroyed by the blaze, along with 15 vehicles that were on the premises.
Fire crews prevented the fire from spreading to adjacent properties. Lightweight portable pumps were used, and further water supply was taken from the nearby canal.
Seven gas cylinders were found on the scene, cooled down and removed.
The Brigade was called at 0149 and the fire was under control by 0559. Fire crews from Hillingdon, Hayes, Heathrow and Southall fire stations attended the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
