Fire crews wearing breathing apparatus rescued two adults and a child from a house fire on Marlborough Road in Forest Gate, this morning.

Firefighters rescued the three from the loft conversion. All three were suffering from smoke inhalation and taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service crews. A woman from the adjacent property was also treated on the scene for smoke inhalation. A further three left the property before the Brigade arrived.

Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers dealt with the fire.

A pile of rubbish in the front garden was entirely destroyed by the fire which also damaged part of the ground floor of the house.

The Brigade was called at 0454 and the fire was under control by 0616. Fire crews from Plaistow, East Ham, Stratford and Leytonstone fire stations attended the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation by fire officers and the police.
