Firefighters rescued six dogs from a blaze on Farley Road in Catford.

Sadly one dog died but firefighters were able to revive the other five dogs. They were taken away by RSPCA crews.

Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers tackled the fire in a house converted into flats. The fire damaged part of the ground floor flat.

The Brigade was called at 1044 and the fire was under control at 1308. Fire crews from Lewisham, Dockhead and Beckenham fire stations were attending the incident. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
