Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers were called to a fire in a block of flats on Wapping High Street this evening.
The fire damaged part of a five roomed split level flat on the sixth and seventh floors of the eight storey block.
The Brigade was called at 1726 and the fire was under control by 1849. Crews from Shadwell, Dockhead, Shoreditch and Dowgate fire stations attended the incident. A turn table ladder was also used as an observation platform at the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
