House or flat fire

Six fire engines and 35 firefighters and officers were called to a house fire on Cornwall Gardens Walk in Kensington yesterday afternoon.

Part of the first and second floor and internal staircase was damaged by the blaze. A man left the property uninjured before the arrival of the Brigade.

The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental.

The Brigade was called at 1602 and the fire was under control by 1803. Fire crews from Kensington, Chelsea, Hammersmith, Paddington and Battersea fire stations attended the scene.
