Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers were called to a house fire on Old Oak Lane in Willesden this afternoon.

Part of the roof and first floor of a two storey house was damaged by the blaze.

A man living in the house was alerted to the fire when he smelled burning, and could see flames in the roof space. He left the property with another occupants before the arrival of the Brigade, suffering no injuries.

The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental.

The Brigade was called at 1655 and the fire was under control by 1805. Fire crews from Park Royal, Willesden and North Kensington fire stations attended the scene.
