Crayford – paper processing plant fire

Firefighters have finished damping down at the paper processing building on Acorn Road in Crayford after a fire this morning.

At the height of the incident, six fire engines and 35 firefighters and officers were in attendance.

Part of a paper processor was damaged by the blaze. Six members of staff evacuated before the Brigade arrived. 

The Brigade was called at 0744 and crews left the scene at 2345. Fire crews from Bexley, Erith, Sidcup and Plumstead fire stations were called to attend.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
