Firefighters were called to first floor flat on Armitage Road in Greenwich yesterday morning.
Thankfully the person living at the property was out at the time of the fire. A third of the living room was damaged by fire with the remainder of the property damaged by heat and smoke.
Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers attended the fire from East Greenwich, Greenwich and Dockhead fire stations.
The Brigade was called at 1043 and the fire was under control at 1130. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
