Soho – Elderly woman rescued from cooking fire

An elderly woman was led to safety after she fell while cooking her dinner on Wild Street in Soho yesterday evening.

The alarm was raised by a neighbour who heard the smoke alarm coming from the affected flat.

Fire crews gain access and found the woman on the kitchen floor unable to get up. She was led to safety and taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service crews.

Two pans were burnt out and there was heavy smoke in the kitchen.

The Brigade was called at 1827 and the fire was under control by 1856. Firefighters from Soho attended the scene.
