Firefighters attended a serious road traffic involving a van and a car on Gloucester Place in Marylebone.

Fire crews used cutting equipment to free the driver of the car who is trapped. He was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service crews. The driver of the man was also checked over at the scene.

Station Manager Sam Kazmanli said:

“It was a difficult rescue as the car has been pushed up against the railings of a house. Firefighters worked hard to free the man as quickly and safely as possible. I’d ask people to avoid the area if possible as there is heavy traffic disruption.”

The Brigade was called at 0746 and the incident was over for the Brigade at 0906. Firefighters from Paddington fire station attended the scene.
