Firefighters have rescued a child from a flat fire on Rifle Street in Poplar this afternoon.
Crews used a ladder to bring the girl to safety from the second floor flat which is part of a three storey block.
The blaze left part of the three roomed flat damaged.
Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers from Poplar, Millwall, Bethnal Green and Stratford fire stations were at the scene.
The Brigade was called at 1242 and the fire was under control by 1322. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
