Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers were called to a fire at a house in Shernhall Street, Walthamstow.
Part of a loft conversion and part of the ground floor of the property was damaged by fire.
The Brigade was called at 0837 and the fire was under control at 0949. Fire crews from Walthamstow, Leyton and Stoke Newington fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Metropolitan Police Service.
