Eight people were led to safety by firefighters after a blaze at a pub in Carpenters Road, Stratford this morning.
A smoking hut at the back of the pub was gutted by fire and an extension was also damaged by the blaze.
Firefighters led eight people from a first floor flat were led to safety by firefighters. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade was called at 0236 and the fire was under control at 0450. Fire crews from Stratford, Leytonstone, Plaistow and Poplar fire stations were called to the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
