Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers were called to a grass fire in Rainham Road, Rainham.
About three hectares of grass and shrubbery was damaged by fire.
The Brigade was called at 1417 and the fire was under control at 1538. Fire crews from Dagenham, Hornchurch and Wennington fire stations were called to the scene.
