House or flat fire

A man was led to safety by firefighters after a fire at a flat in Camden Passage, Islington, on Tuesday.

Part of a flat on the first floor of the building was damaged by fire.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus led one man out of the property via an internal staircase and a woman left the building before the arrival of the Brigade.

There were no reports of any injuries.

The fire was believed to have been caused by a fault in a cooker hood.

The Brigade was called at 0654 and the fire was under control at 0749. Two fire engines from Islington and Euston fire stations attended the scene.
