House or flat fire

Firefighters rescued a man from a house fire on Riseldine Road in Crofton Park, yesterday afternoon.

Two fire engines and around 10 firefighters and officers tackled the fire in a two storey house. The blaze damaged part of the first floor.

Fire crews wearing breathing apparatus rescued the man from the ground floor. He was suffering from smoke inhalation and lacerations to his hands and was treated on scene.

The Brigade was called at 1831 and the fire was under control by 1849. Fire crews from Forest Hill and Deptford fire stations attended the scene.
