Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers dealt with a fire in a block of flats on Wyndham Road in Camberwell in the early hours of this morning.
A storeroom on the ground floor of the 20 storey block of flats was badly damaged by the blaze.
Two men left the property before the Brigade arrived. They were both suffering from burns and taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service crews. Around 40 residents were evacuated from the block.
The Brigade was called at 0122 and the fire was under control by 0255. Fire crews from Peckham, Brixton and Old Kent Road fire stations attended the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation by Brigade officers and the police.
