Firefighters rescued two window cleaners who were stuck in a cleaning cradle on the tenth floor of a 35 floor building on Undershaft in The City, E1, yesterday afternoon.

Three crews worked alongside building management to lower the cradle to the first floor where two men were brought down to ground level using an aerial ladder platform.

The men, who had been trapped in the cradle for a number of hours prior to the Brigade being called, were not injured.

A fire engine from Dowgate fire station, an aerial ladder platform from Greenwich fire station and a fire rescue unit from Islington fire station attended the incident.

The Brigade was called at 1617 and the incident was over at 1816.
