Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus rescued a man from a fire at a maisonette on Allen Close in Mitcham, this morning.
The man was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation by the London Ambulance Service, before being taken to hospital.
The fire was in the kitchen of the ground floor maisonette. Two fire engines from Norbury fire station attended the incident.
The Brigade was called at 1108 and the fire was under control 1135. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
