Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus rescued a man from a fire at a house on Northlands Street in Camberwell, in the early hours of this morning.
Crews helped the man to safety via an internal staircase and two other people left the property before the arrival of the Brigade. Fortunately there were no injuries.
Two fire engines from Brixton fire station were at the scene.
The Brigade was called at 0002 and the fire was under control at 0042. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade and the Metropolitan Police.
