A small fire broke out today affecting a gas main outside a 22 storey building under construction on Millennium Way in Greenwich. The building is close to the O2.
The fire spread to a ground floor gas intake room, which has been destroyed by the fire.
No injuries were reported.
Six fire engines and 30 firefighters were at the scene. Fire engines came from East Greenwich, Plaistow, Deptford, Poplar and Lee Green fire stations.
The Brigade was called at 1038 and the fire was under control by 1231. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
