Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus rescued two women from a fire at a house converted into flats on Ilford Lane in Ilford, during the early hours of this morning.
Three other adults and two children safely evacuated from another flat in the property before the arrival of the Brigade. Fortunately no-one was injured.
Crews from Ilford and Barking fire stations extinguished a small fire in the kitchen of the ground floor flat.
The Brigade was called at 0553 and the fire was under control at 0616. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
