Lower Clapton – man sadly dies following river rescue

A man has sadly died in hospital after he was found in the River Lea this morning.

Firefighters using specialist water rescue equipment brought the man out of the water. He was taken to hospital scene by London Ambulance Service crews where he later died.

The Brigade was called at 0843 and the incident was over for the Brigade at 1043. Fire crews from Homerton, Bethnal Green, Edmonton and Euston fire stations were at the scene.
