Fifteen adults and 25 children safely evacuated from a fire at a children’s community centre on Brookhill Road in Woolwich, this afternoon.
The group were moved to a local library by police and there were no injuries.
A small part of the ground floor laundry room was damaged by fire.
Around 20 firefighters from East Greenwich and Plumstead fire station were at the scene.
The Brigade was called at 1612 and the fire was under control at 1705. The cause of the fire under investigation.
