Six people escaped uninjured from a house fire on Vicarage Lane in Stratford, this afternoon.
Most of the third floor loft conversion was damaged by fire.
Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers from Leytonstone, Plaistow, Leyton and East Ham fire stations were at the scene.
The Brigade was called at 1458 and the fire was under control at 1533. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
