Hammersmith – basement fire

Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers were called to basement fire in a house on King Street, Hammersmith in the early hours of this morning.

There was heavy smoke logging in the basement believed to be caused by a fault in the electrical intake box.

The Brigade was called at 0424 and the fire was under control by 0822. Fire crews from Hammersmith, Chiswick and Fulham fire stations attended the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
