Four fire engines and around 20 firefighters tackled a fire at a shop with flats above it on High Road in Woodford Green, early this morning.
Around 10 people evacuated from the building before the arrival of the Brigade and fortunately there were no reports of any injuries.
The whole of the ground floor was damaged by fire.
Two London fire engines from Chingford, Woodford fire stations and two fire engines from Essex fire and rescue service attended the incident.
The Brigade was called at 0309 and the fire was under control at 0455. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
