A woman has sadly died in hospital following a fire in a residential care home on Laurel Close, Tooting, during the early hours of Wednesday morning (28 January).
Three fire engines and around 15 firefighters were called to the fire which damaged part of a two roomed flat on the first floor of the home.
The woman, who had been in the flat affected by the fire, was taken to hospital where she later died on Thursday afternoon (29 January).
The Brigade was called at 0054 and the fire was under control by 0148. Crews Tooting and Wimbledon fire stations attended the incident. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
