Four fire engines and around 20 firefighters were called to a van on fire on Mare Street in Hackney, E8 this afternoon.
The fire gutted the van and also affected the ground floor and first floor of a nearby building – a shop with flats above it.
One man was taken to hospital and another was treated on the scene by London Ambulance Service.
The Brigade was called at 1212 and the fire was under control by 1327.Crews from Bethnal Green, Homerton and Stoke Newington fire stations attended the incident. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
