Fourteen people escaped a fire at a takeaway restaurant with flats above it on Old Kent Road, Bermondsey, yesterday evening.
There were no injuries and part of the basement was damaged by fire.
Four fire engines and around 20 firefighters from Dockhead, Peckham, Dowgate and Lambeth fire stations attended the incident.
The Brigade was called at 1750 and the fire was under control at 1910. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
