Eight fire engines and 58 firefighters and officers are currently tackling a fire at a disused flour mill on Mill Road in Canning Town.
Fire engines from Dagenham, East Ham, Plaistow, Stratford, Poplar, Shadwell, Bromley and East Greenwich fire stations are at the scene.
The Brigade was called at 1229. The cause of the fire is not known at this stage.
