Firefighters rescued a man who was injured on a building site on Livonia Street in Soho this morning.

The man had sustained a head injury and firefighters got him onto a stretcher and lifted him down from the building site using an aerial ladder platform. He was then taken to hospital by ambulance.

The Brigade was called at 0852 and the incident was over by 0950.

There were two fire engines at the scene from Soho fire station, as well as a fire rescue unit and and aerial ladder platform. An aerial is a large vehicle with a hydraulic platform used to carry out a range of tasks at incidents which need high-level access.
