Six fire engines and 35 firefighters tackled a fire at a recycling centre on Kingsbridge Road in Barking, yesterday.
A man was treated at the scene by the London Ambulance Service for smoke inhalation.
Part of the ground floor of the two floor building was damaged by fire.
Fire engines from East Ham, Plaistow, Shadwell, Poplar, Walthamstow and Ilford fire stations attended the incident.
The Brigade was called at 1005 and the fire was under control at 1928. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
