Croydon’s SEND bonfire night is aimed at making this exciting occasion accessible for young people with additional needs.
There will be a sensory trail with special lighting, a UV house, and a bubble tunnel. Visitors will also be able to access a fire engine via a specially-designed ramp, as well as enjoying hot chocolate and toasted marshmallows.
Brigade facilities including our Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) tents and the Breathing Apparatus (BA) chamber are being temporarily used to create quiet spaces. This allows families to enjoy the experience in their own time, as well as learning about fire safety in a way that is accessible for them.
This is a free event, but there will be opportunities to donate to the Fire Fighter's Charity if you wish.
There is limited capacity so please book in advance online.
Please note that there is very limited car parking available on site for visitors with mobility needs - please book this in advance by emailing daniel.foster@london-fire.gov.uk
