Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers were called to a fire at a house in Yew Tree Road in Shepherd's Bush.
The first floor of the house was destroyed. Sadly, one man was confirmed dead at the scene.
Another two men left the property before the Brigade arrived and were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation by London Ambulance Service crews.
The Brigade was called at 0414 and the fire was under control at 0528/ Fire crews from Hammersmith, Acton and North Kensington fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
