Fire at commercial property

Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers were called to a fire at a pub and restaurant in Upper Elmers End Road, Beckenham.

Part of the basement of the building was damaged by the fire. Ten people left the premises before the Brigade arrived and there were no reports of any injuries.

The Brigade was called at 1029 and the fire was under control at 1119. Fire crews from Beckenham, Woodside and Bromley fire stations attended the scene.

The cause of the fire is believed to be an electrical fault within an isolator for a voltage optimising system.
