Firefighters were called to a car stuck on mud at Embankment, Putney.
The vehicle had driven down a slipway at Putney Pier and became stuck in one foot of mud.
Firefighters, including the crew from the Brigade’s fire boat based at Lambeth, worked hard with a rising tide to free the vehicle and its occupant from the mud by using a winch. The RNLI from Chiswick lifeboat station also attended.
The Brigade was called at 0550 and the incident was over for firefighters at 0658. Fire crews from Fulham, Wandsworth, Chelsea and Lambeth River fire stations attended the scene.
