Four fire engines and around 20 firefighters and officers were called to a fire at a block of flats on Gosterwood Road in Deptford this morning.
Ducting, that led from the boiler room on the ground floor to the roof of the six floored building, was completely damaged by fire. A small part of the roof was also damaged by the blaze. Twenty people were evacuated by the Brigade.
The Brigade was called at 0931 and the fire was under control at 1108. Fire crews from Deptford, New Cross and Greenwich fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
