Six fire engines and 35 firefighters and officers tackled a house fire on Upney Lane in Barking.
Half of the loft conversion and roof was damaged by the blaze. The fire has also affected the ground and the first floor. There are no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade was called at 1000 and the fire was under control by 1209. Fire crews from Barking, Ilford, East Ham and Dagenham fire stations were at the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
