Six fire engines and 35 firefighters and officers were called to a fire at a high rise block of flats in Green Dragon Lane, Brentford last night.
Part of a flat on the 20th floor of the 23-storey building was damaged by fire. Sadly a man was found dead in the hallway of the flat by crews wearing breathing apparatus.
Approximately 20 people were evacuated from the block by the Brigade.
The Brigade was called at 2239 and the fire was under control at 0111. Fire crews from Chiswick, Acton, Richmond, Ealing and Hammersmith fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
