House or flat fire

A man escaped from a fire at a block of flats on Harleyford Road in Vauxhall, yesterday evening.

The man left the property before the arrival of the Brigade and was treated at the scene by firefighters for smoke inhalation and shock.

Half of a three roomed flat on the third floor was damaged by fire.

The fire is believed to have been caused by an electrical fault in the fuse board.

Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers from Lambeth and Brixton fire stations attended the incident.

The Brigade was called at 1946 and the fire was under control at 2037.
