Two hundred people safely evacuated from a student halls of residents on Stamford Street in Southwark, in the early hours of this morning.
Part of a self contained flat of six rooms on the seventh floor of the eight floor building was damaged by fire.
Six fire engines and 35 firefighter and officers from Dowgate, Lambeth, Euston and Soho fire stations attended the incident.
The Brigade was called at 0216 and the fire was under control at 0331. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
