The seven hour strike staged by the Fire Brigades Union (FBU) today (Saturday, 21 June) has now ended.
This strike action, which started at 10am and finished at 5pm, is the fourteenth period of industrial action staged by the FBU since 25 September last year.
During the strike period, the Emergency Fire Contingency Crews attended around 20 incidents in total.
As with the previous FBU strikes the Brigade’s priority is to return to normal business as quickly as possible.
The strike relates to a dispute between the FBU and government over the government’s reforms to the Firefighters’ Pension Scheme.
