Mitcham fire station open day

Mitcham fire station 421-445 London Road, CR4 4BJ

Come along and meet the firefighters at our open day.

Crews will be opening the doors to Mitcham fire station, 421 - 445 London Road, Mitcham CR4 4BJ on Saturday 28th July from 11am - 4pm. 

Demonstrations and fire engines 

There will be a demonstration from a Fire Rescue Unit (FRU - fire engine) in extracting a live casualty using their specialist equipment. You'll also be able to check out the FRU afterwards.

You will be able to see one of our specialist fire dogs as well as a Community fire safety display and advice and the Guide Dogs Association and London Ambulance Service will also be here on the day. 

Fire Cadets will be present and will do a small demonstration. They will also be recruiting for the new Cadet courses. 

There will be coffee, tea and a cake stand as well as the Fire Brigade Welfare stand and opportunity to purchase merchandise with proceeds going to The Welfare Fund

Something for everyone 

There will be the opportunity to test your skills and squirt a fire hose.

There will also be

  • ice cream van
  • face-painting, bouncy castle
  • fire brigade themed selfie area
  • candy floss, burger van and ice cream van
  • guess the number of balloons in the fire car

We want our fire station to be at the heart of our community, so come along, bring the whole family and lets enjoy the summer together!
