The Press Office receives hundreds of media queries every month and we do our best to answer them all.


What happens in the Press Office?

As well as responding to media queries, the Press Office warns and informs local communities during significant incidents like large house fires, and campaigns on key issues to keep Londoners safe.

Meet the team

Vicky Hardman (News Manager)

Vicky leads on issues around the Brigade's strategy and its performance, London resilience (preparing for major emergencies) and industrial relations. She is responsible for managing the 24/7 press office. 


Rob McTaggart (Senior Communications Officer)

Rob leads on community fire safety promoting fire safety and the Brigade's important prevention work in the media. He is also responsible for youth engagement, arson prevention and partnership working.


Catherine Allum with job share partner Emma Gibbs (Senior Communications Officer)

Catherine and Emma lead on property, the Brigade's green credentials and Brigade’s health and wellbeing work


Laura Proto (Senior Communications Officer)

Laura leads on fire safety law, also known as Regulatory Fire Safety, fire investigations, and also procurement


Emma Grove (Communications officer)

Emma supports the day-to-day running of the press office.
