London Fire Brigade actively campaigns on issues that affect the safety of London and its residents. We are campaigning on a number of major issues to improve safety in the capital over the next year.

School sprinklers

LFB is working hard to make sure that London’s education chiefs and the general public are aware of new Government guidance on the installation of sprinklers in new schools and during major refurbishments.

Cylinders

LFB is campaigning to ensure the safe use, signage and storage of acetylene gas cylinders, and a greater awareness of the dangers when the cylinders are involved in fires and other incidents.

Fire safer cigarettes

Fires caused by smokers’ materials are more likely than other domestic fires to cause death or serious injury. LFB is campaigning with other organisations to ensure that all cigarettes sold in the UK meet a fire safer cigarette standard.
