OBE for Brigade's Director of Resources

Barbara Riddell, the Brigade's Director of Resources has been awarded an OBE in the New Year Honours list.

The honour is in recognition of Barbara's service to the fire and rescue service.

The New Year Honours list reflects outstanding achievement and service across the community.

Barbara said she was" surprised and delighted" to be recognised in such a way.

She added: "I'm extremely proud to be part of the UK's fire and rescue service which does remarkable things making our communities safer. This reward is really a reflection of the professionalism and support of the people I have worked with over the years."

London Fire Commissioner Ron Dobson said: "This is a reflection of the tremendous work Barbara has done for the fire and rescue service and the London Fire Brigade in particular. I am delighted that Barbara's work has been recognised in this significant way."
