Davina joins the London Fire Brigade

13 March 2007

Davina Fiore has been appointed the Head of Legal and Democratic Services at the London Fire and Emergency Planning Authority (LFEPA).

The new role combines two key functions of the Authority, which runs the London Fire Brigade. Legal and democratic services were combined in a recent restructure and the new role will see Davina ensuring legal integrity and sound legal practice in the Brigade’s affairs as well as managing and coordinating all aspects of the official administrative functions of the Authority, including servicing meetings, committees and panels and providing and developing services for members.

Davina is currently Head of Legal Services and Monitoring Officer at the London Borough of Haringey and started her career as a trainee solicitor at Reading Borough Council in 1986. Throughout her career she has worked for a number of county and London borough councils including Legal and Democratic Services Director at Ealing Council.

Davina said on her appointment: “The London Fire Brigade is one of world’s largest fire and rescue services and I am really looking forward to taking up this new role and playing an important part in making London a safer city. I look forward to using my experience and enthusiasm to build on the excellent work of my predecessors.”

Davina will report to the Director of Corporate Services Rita Dexter and starts at the Authority on 30 April 2007. Rita said: “I am delighted to welcome Davina to the Authority. Her expertise in both fields will ensure that this new role will bring maximum benefits to the Authority.”
