Firefighter’s sticky toffee pudding raising money for charity

23 December 2015

Holloway firefighter Alexandra Glen's recipe for a delicious pudding has been included in a charity cookbook raising money for Action Medical Research.

Alexandra's love of cooking started with her father, who was a baker, and her sticky toffee pudding is a huge hit with her watch.

Alexandra said: "I took my inspiration for the recipe from Simon Hopkinson, a legendary British chef.

"I adjusted it so it was quicker and easier to create in the mess, as we have other duties to perform during the day and being chained to the cooker throughout the day isn’t possible!

"The sauce is so good; cream, butter, and sugar - what is there not to like?

"Coupled with a light, moist sponge, it's the only thing that keeps the watch quiet for at least 10 minutes - I know it's good when silence descends!"
