Four hour strike ends

The Fire Brigades Union’s (FBU) fourth period of strike action started at 1000 and finished at 1400 today.

Over the four hour period the Brigade’s 999 control officers received 81 calls. Of these, contingency fire crews attended and successfully dealt with six incidents. These included:

  • A house fire in Ealing which was attended by four fire engines and around 20 contingency firefighters
  • A fire affecting a two garages
  • Two road traffic collisions
  • Two false alarms

As with the previous three FBU strikes the Brigade’s priority is to return to normal business as quickly as possible.
